This Jaguar is the oldest existing Series II XJ12 in the world - it is RHD Chassis #2 and, according to Jaguar factory build books, was completed as a pre-production prototype on the 23rd of May 1973.

Originally commissioned to be finished in Greensand with Olive trim, the XJ12 was actually painted Fern Grey and was displayed at the Frankfurt and London Motor Shows to release the Series II.  It was then consigned to Jaguars publicity department on the 21st of December 1973 and was also used as a press vehicle during early 1974.

Originally wearing the plates "OHP19M", the Jaguar was first registered on the 3rd of August 1973 and was sold through Coombs in 1974.  It was shipped to Australia with its second owner following a summer tour through Europe in 1976 and remains a particularly well presented vehicle, having never been accident damaged or compromised by rust.

In regular use with its previous custodian, the Jaguar was always well maintained although it has been in storage since 2003 and thus would require some recommissioning before being pressed back in to service.  Before going in to storage, the Jaguar benefited from rebuilt carburettors, a new radiator core, an air conditioning service (still cold) and new fuel tanks.

This XJ12 represents an irreplaceable part of XJ heritage and is available for sale by application to a sympathetic, responsible collector or investor who is considered qualified to care for such a vehicle.
